Environment

• A freshly deployed Xen Orchestra Appliance (XOA).
• If you deployed XOA with the web deploy form, you already set the password for the xoa user. If you forgot it, follow the procedure below.
• If you connect via SSH or console for the first time without using the web deploy form, be aware there is NO default password set for security reasons.

Procedure

1. Connect to your host and find the XOA VM UUID, for example via xe vm-list.

2. Set the password, replacing <UUID> with the UUID you found previously, and <password> with your password:

   root@xoa

   # xe vm-param-set uuid=<UUID> xenstore-data:vm-data/system-account-xoa-password=<password>

   Tip: do not forget to use quotes for your password, for example: xenstore-data:vm-data/system-account-xoa-password='MyPassW0rd!'

3. Reboot the VM to implement the changes.

Verification

You can now connect with the xoa username and the password you defined in the previous command, for example with ssh xoa@<XOA IP ADDRESS> (replace with your appliance IP address).
