Air gap solutions
Vates VMS can run in disconnected environments, with dedicated service add-ons for support and licensing when the standard secure support tunnel is not an option.
Two service add-ons
- Airgap: for fully isolated sites with no internet access at all. Includes ticket-based support plus a limited number of webcall sessions using a remote tool you provide, and prepackaged, preactivated Xen Orchestra licenses delivered on request for offline deployment.
- Offline Support: for sites that have internet access but cannot open the support tunnel due to policy. Same model: ticket support plus limited webcalls via your approved tool.
Airgap support is an option on the Vates VMS offer: see the pricing and support page for current terms.
Deploying and updating XOA without internet
The Xen Orchestra documentation covers both scenarios in its airgap guide:
- Logical air gap: register and update the XOA on a connected pre-production pool, export it as an XVA file, then import it into the disconnected environment. Updates follow the same export/import cycle.
- Physical air gap: with an air gap subscription, Vates builds a pre-registered XOA on demand and provides a download link, so no initial internet connection is ever required. A deployment script guides the network setup on the isolated host.
