Applying XCP-ng licenses

XCP-ng is fully open source: all features are available for free, and an XCP-ng license is a pro support license bound to a host; it does not unlock hidden features. Every Vates VMS bundle includes XCP-ng support licenses for all your hosts.

Bind licenses to your hosts​

Binding is done from Xen Orchestra:

  1. From the Home view, select Pools and open your pool.
  2. Go to the Advanced tab.
  3. Under the Licenses section, click Bind XCP-ng licenses.
  4. Select the license to assign to each host and confirm.

To verify, go back to Home then Hosts: licensed hosts display "XCP-ng Pro Support enabled on this host".

Every host of a pool must have a license, and all licenses in the pool must be the same support level.
