Foundation training

The Vates VMS Foundation training is a comprehensive course for individuals looking to acquire essential skills in using the XCP-ng hypervisor and Xen Orchestra within the Vates Virtualization Management Stack (VMS). It blends instructional modules led by professional trainers with hands-on lab activities, and is delivered directly by Vates, the software developer of the solution.

Format​

  • Online, instructor-led training
  • Three half-day sessions (12 hours total); attendance at all three is required to qualify for certification
  • Hands-on lab access for each student, used for practical exercises and evaluation

Prerequisites​

  • Basic knowledge of virtualization
  • Basic understanding of networking
  • Basic Linux management skills

What you will learn​

  • The fundamentals of XCP-ng and Xen Orchestra
  • How to deploy and configure XCP-ng hosts
  • Managing virtual machines with Xen Orchestra, including storage, networking and backup
  • Authentication, plugins, self-service and troubleshooting of common operational issues
  • Best practices for operating virtualized environments

Certification​

The course concludes with a series of practical exercises. Completing them successfully earns you the Level 1 Certification in Vates VMS administration, delivered by Vates, which you can share with your professional network.
